Because this season of growth deserves to be remembered

Backpacks are packed, school shoes are fresh and those proud little grins are ready for the big day - it's back to school season! Whether you child is starting kindergarten or heading to their senior year, this time of year is full of excitement, nerves, and big milestones.

As a photographer and a parent of 4 with one graduating this year, I know how fast these school years fly by. That's why I've put together a few fun and meaningful photo ideas to help you document the moment before the homework and the chaos take over.

First Day of School Portraits at Home

Grab a quick snap on the front porch or by the front door. If you add a chalkboard sign with their grade, teachers name, and "What I want to be when I grow up." For your Senior instead of the teachers name put the School they are hoping to get into. You can still include what they want to be as a fun memory. (They feel like they have grown up but we both know they will always be your baby)

Keep it simple: big smiles, clean backpacks, and their favorite outfit.

Tip: Take the same photo in the same spot every year - It's so fun to look back on how they grow!

Back to School Mini Sessions

Mini sessions are a great way to just get a couple of beautiful images that you can share on your social media for your friends and family to enjoy as well. I will be offering Back to school mini sessions for the first time this year. This fun little session will take place at Live Oak Park behind the football field. The sessions will be in the evening from 6pm-8pm to take advantage of the evening lighting. These sessions are quick and fun which is perfect for little ones with a short attention span. Each session is scheduled for 15 min each. You can book your session online at https://staciahebertphotography.pixieset.com/booking/back-to-school

Before and After Comparison Photos

Another fun way to celebrate your child's school journey is to take a first day and a last day photo in the same outfit or location. This can make for a fun photo to use on your social media. It's also a great way to share these memories with friends and family. These can be especially fun for Kindergarten and senior year! This will also give you plenty of photographs to go through when you are making your senior an ad for the yearbook!

Senior Year Spotlight

This is a big year for your senior. Y'all did it you made it to senior year! Senior portraits are a chance to freeze time before graduation and adulthood begin. I know it's hard to believe that the time has come. As I wright this I look back at my time with my very own daughter who will be graduating this year. Where did the time go? It just seams like yesterday we were taking her picture for her first day of school. The ideal time to plan your senior session is before Christmas break especially if you want to put and ad in the yearbook for your senior. If you want to get graduation announcement cards for your senior then you will need to have the session done and cards ordered by the first week of February. You can book a senior session with me at https://staciahebertphotography.pixieset.com/booking/senior

Celebrate the Whole Family

School time is often a time of transition-which is great for updating family portraits as well. Because school starts in the fall this makes a perfect time for a full family session. The sooner you book your session the better as you will have the perfect date and time for your session. If you wait till the last minute to book your session space becomes limited and you my not be able to book for the date or time you want.

Back to school makes a new chapter for your kids-and for you. Whether you take a quick phone snap on the porch or book a full session, the most important thing is to celebrate this fleeting season. Want help capturing it? I'd love to be part of your family's back-to-school memories. https://www.staciahebertphotography.com/contact/
